Lovely setting close to the beach and a golf course, nice students who should be high fliers but...., parents are supportive but often high fliers with little time. Staff commitment varies and you can work full time but only be in part time due to the Dutch labour laws. Only summative assessments seem to motivate many students. Initial relocation package looks good but the surprise expenses keep landing on your door and if you leave before three years you need to pay a significant portion back. Its the same for school fees, supposedly free but only if you are eligible for the 30% reduction on tax - check this out carefully and get it in writing as some staff have been stung. Health care is expensive and compulsory for all. Kids under 18 are free with parents but if you partners who are not working you will have to pay two lots of medical insurance - about 100 euros each per month for the basics. You also need to pay the first couple of hundred euros a year for any treatment. PD is possible and there are individual and school wide funds for this but don't expect to actually get on a course as the time to process the paper work is often so long there are no places left. A small minority of kids and parents seem to be involved in the community life of the school but communication is poor so you don't always know what is happening if you want to be a part of a community within the school. Administration is whimsical. Many judgements seem to be made on the basis of if you assist with sport or can be ladish. Beach is lovely and close by and biking is a must.
