The International Community School in London caters for a diverse range of needs, providing good quality education to all students. The staff are very dedicated and experienced, and work incredibly hard to ensure that learning is personalised. ICS follows the IB and at primary level requires Readers' and Writers' workshop, Sounds Write, Fountas and Pinnell Word Study framework and Everyday Maths to be taught. Given that London is a posting where both parents mostly work, so the parent involvement is fairly low, though they do attend learning celebrations when they occur. The HR Manager was fantastic in communicating through the visa application process, and upon arrival was immensely helpful in getting new staff settled. Most schools in Europe do not provide housing or a housing stipend as it is not considered a hardship posting. Health insurance is also not usually covered as the UK has a decent public health system. But London is crazy expensive - don't be fooled. The salary package, unfortunately, is not as competitive as other London international schools and this isn't likely to change as it appears that the owners feel that they have enough teachers applying for positions due to the location of the school and therefore do not need to increase salaries. The kids are well behaved and quite frankly inspiring.
