Dover Court is a school that is changing its identity. I think it will be a good school but at the moment it is very disorganised and messy. Staff are excellent and are very approachable but they seem very stressed. The vision of the school seems unclear which could be due to the overwhelming changes being attempted i such a short time frame. The management are willing but I am not convinced that they are able. This was essentially a primary school and is trying hard to provide secondary education but with little understanding of what that entails. Teachers have very little in terms of up to date resources and there is very little student access to laptops etc which is essential in todays education. Books also seem to be very old and tired. There is good SEN provision with well trained staff but, again, with very little in terms of modern resourcing or technology. English as a Second language is taught in enormous classes who are removed from all mainstream lessons. They therefore miss all learning content and language progress is slow as they are taught in mixed ability, age and leveled classes. It is trying hard to compete with other international schools in Singapore but isnt really up to it yet.




This is a school in transition as it has now been taken over by Nord Anglia Education. It has grown too quickly and hasn't prepared or organised for this. Resourcing is old, tired and dated. Very little ICT provision and a poor extra curricula programme for an International School. Teaching staff are excellent but stretched. SEN provision is good but lacks up to date resoucing and training. ESL provision is a mess. Students are taken out of all mainstream classes and are taught by one dedicated teacher in classes of 18-20 regardless of their level of need. As the school is over subscribed students cannot rejoin the mainstream until a place becomes available. It needs a huge amount of investment and love to take it any where near international school standards but it tries hard with very little.
